The lineup includes notable acts like Floetry, GENA, Ayra Starr, Joe, and Eve, offering a diverse musical experience.
Louis Carr, President of BET, emphasized the network's long-standing commitment to celebrating Black artistry. He noted that programs like '106 & Park' and 'Video Soul' have historically provided platforms for generations of talent. Bobby Carter, host and producer for Tiny Desk, echoed this sentiment, stating that the series stands on the legacy built by BET's foundational programs.
The series highlights individual performances, such as Floetry's reunion set blending poetry and soul, and GENA's jazz-infused duo of Liv.e and Karriem Riggins. Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr brought her Afropop sound to the global stage, while R&B veteran Joe delivered a soulful performance. The Paradox made history as the first all-Black band to top Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart, presenting their pop-punk sound. Eve, the 'First Lady' of Ruff Ryders, showcased her impactful hip-hop hits, further cementing the series' diverse representation of Black music.
