10 Oct
Summary
- New stop-motion film starring the felt gourmand is in development.
- The film is inspired by Chef's recent role as mayor of Pioneertown.
- The Tiny Chef brand continues through partnerships despite cancellation.
The popular felt character, The Tiny Chef, is set to star in a new stop-motion animated film, as announced by his creators at New York Comic Con. Teaser footage showed the character exploring a Western town, hinting at the film's setting and themes. This project is a direct result of Chef's recent honorary appointment as the mayor of Pioneertown, California, a historic site for Hollywood Westerns. The creators aim to revitalize the small municipality's visibility through this new content.
The development of the film follows the cancellation of 'The Tiny Chef Show' by Nickelodeon last year. Since then, the creative team has embraced their independence, finding success through brand partnerships with companies like IKEA and Priceline. This shift to an independent model allows them greater creative control, even as they navigate production challenges without major corporate backing. The team recently celebrated an Emmy win three months after the show's cancellation.
