- His wife dislikes his altered appearance, requiring brow gel.
- He plays a synthetic android in the Alien prequel.

Timothy Olyphant has adopted a striking new appearance for his role in the FX science fiction series Alien: Earth, currently filming its second season. The actor bleached both his hair and his eyebrows for the part. Olyphant himself expressed approval of the transformed look, comparing it to a rock star aesthetic.
However, his wife, Alexis Knief, reportedly dislikes the change. Olyphant revealed that he began using brow gel to conceal his bleached eyebrows when they go out together. He admitted that he went through the entire first season with white eyebrows before discovering the brow gel solution.
Olyphant plays Kirsh, a synthetic android working for the Prodigy Corporation in the series, which serves as a prequel to Ridley Scott's iconic 1979 film, Alien. The physical transformation was initiated by the show's creator, Noah Hawley, who suggested altering both hair and eyebrows. Olyphant stated that the intention was to create a visual separation for his character, similar to how Ian Holm's British accent distinguished his synthetic character in the original film.
Describing his approach to playing a synthetic character, Olyphant noted that it required making bold choices. He felt it was necessary to do more than just memorize lines, incorporating changes to his look, voice, or mannerisms to effectively portray a non-human entity. This process of experimenting with different aspects was described as enjoyable.
