He played Andrew Reinhardt, a domestic terrorist, in the show's initial three episodes. Robbins' role was secured despite his then-unconventional demeanor, which was not favored for typical showbiz parts.
However, his second day of shooting proved almost disastrous. Having attended a concert by his favorite band, The Clash, the previous night, Robbins overslept and arrived late for his call time. This unprofessionalism led to a stern conversation with executive producer Bruce Paltrow.
Paltrow, who was Gwyneth Paltrow's father, informed Robbins that he would have been fired if his performance on the first day hadn't been strong. This incident became a pivotal learning experience for Robbins, instilling in him the importance of professionalism, dedication, and respecting the hard work of film crews by always showing up on time.
