As of October 25, 2025, Disney+ is developing "Hocus Pocus 3," and Thora Birch, who played the young Dani Dennison in the original 1993 film, has expressed her willingness to return to the role. In a recent interview, Birch responded positively to questions about Dani's potential involvement in the third installment, stating, "Yeah, I'd like to know what they land on for how Dani wound up. I'm super open to the idea."
Birch was just 11 years old when the first "Hocus Pocus" film was released, and she played the youngest member of the central Dennison family alongside her on-screen siblings, portrayed by Omri Katz and Vinessa Shaw. While the film struggled at the box office upon its initial release, it has since gained a strong cult following.
The legacy sequel, "Hocus Pocus 2," premiered on Disney+ in 2022 and was a smash hit for the streaming platform, accumulating 2.7 billion minutes watched during its opening weekend. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprised their roles as the Sanderson sisters, but the original Dennison family ensemble was absent from the sequel. However, Midler recently shared that she has read an early draft of the script for "Hocus Pocus 3" and thought it was "brilliant," hinting at the possibility of the Dennison family's return.
