Thandie Newton: Life After Tom Cruise & Hollywood Stardom

Thandie Newton, who played Nyah Nordoff-Hall opposite Tom Cruise in the 2000 film "Mission: Impossible 2," has established a notable acting career in the two decades since. Her extensive work includes a role on "ER" from 2003 to 2005 and an appearance in the 2004 Oscar-winning film "Crash." Newton's performance as Maeve Millay in HBO's "Westworld" garnered critical acclaim, leading to an Emmy award and two Critics' Choice awards.

In her personal life, Newton was married to filmmaker Ol Parker for 24 years, and they share three children: Ripley, Nico, and Booker. Newton chose home births for all her children, citing a desire to be in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Her eldest daughter, Ripley, is following in her parents' footsteps as a filmmaker, while daughter Nico has also embarked on an acting career, starring in "Dumbo" and "How to Train Your Dragon." Nico's romance with Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, garnered media attention after they met on the set of "Poetic License" in 2025.
