Teyonah Parris Joins Denzel Washington in New Thriller

Teyonah Parris is set to co-star with Denzel Washington in an upcoming thriller helmed by director Christopher McQuarrie. The United Artists and Amazon MGM Studios project is scheduled for a theatrical debut on October 1, 2027.

The film's narrative follows a former police detective, serving a life sentence, who receives compassionate release due to a terminal cancer diagnosis. With only six months to live, he returns home to reconnect with his estranged daughter and grandson, intending to reconcile past mistakes.

However, his past actions are not forgotten, suggesting a conflict-laden journey ahead. McQuarrie is producing the film alongside Heather McQuarrie, and others from United Artists, Hungry Bull Productions, Mainstay Entertainment, Katia Washington, and Tommy Harper.

Parris has rapidly ascended in Hollywood following acclaimed performances in Marvel's WandaVision and They Cloned Tyrone. Her recent work includes the action-adventure Matchbox and upcoming dramas Running and Don't Go Gentle.
