Teyana Taylor's Icon Status Cemented at BET Awards

Teyana Taylor dominated the BET Awards on Sunday, clinching four honors and accepting the Icon of the Year award from Janet Jackson. Taylor expressed deep gratitude, stating her achievements were the result of two decades of hard work. The ceremony, broadcast live from Los Angeles' Peacock Theater, celebrated Black excellence in entertainment.

Another significant honor was bestowed upon music industry executive Sylvia Rhone, who received the BET Ultimate Icon Award. Rhone, a 50-year veteran, acknowledged the collective effort behind cultural creation and highlighted the power of Black creativity.

The night also saw performances by artists such as Cardi B and Raye. Cardi B earned the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award, while Lauryn Hill was recognized with the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award.
