Teyana Taylor Breaks Silence on Oscar Backstage Incident

Teyana Taylor has addressed an alleged altercation at the 2026 Oscars, where she claimed a man, believed to be a security guard, shoved her. The incident occurred backstage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles after Taylor had presented an award. Video footage captured Taylor expressing her anger, stating, "You're a man putting his hands on a female." She emphasized her zero-tolerance policy for unwarranted disrespect and physical contact.

Despite the backstage tension, the 2026 Academy Awards was a significant night for Taylor's film, "One Battle After Another." The American black comedy action-thriller won Best Picture, leading the night with six wins. Taylor herself had a notable awards season, earning a Golden Globe and nominations from various other prestigious bodies for her role in the film. The event also saw Michael B. Jordan and Jessie Buckley take home top acting honors.
