The Round Top Film Festival, one of America's newest cinematic events, has unveiled the lineup for its second edition, set to take place from November 6-9, 2025. The festival, located between Austin and Houston, Texas, is poised to deliver a dynamic mix of narrative features, documentary films, shorts, and episodic selections.
The festival will kick off with the Texas premiere of "Adult Children," a "sharp, emotional dramedy" starring and produced by native Texan Thomas Sadoski, who will be in attendance to receive the Lone Star Storyteller Award. Another Texas-born talent, Ethan Hawke, stars in "She Dances," a film about a father and daughter attempting to repair their relationship and reconcile a shared tragedy against the backdrop of a regional dance competition.
The festival's diverse programming also includes documentary features, such as "Goddess of Slide: The Forgotten Story of Ellen McIlwaine," which offers a powerful portrait of a Canadian slide guitar pioneer who broke gender barriers in blues. Additionally, the festival will showcase a selection of Texas-centric shorts, celebrating the grit, heart, and spirit that define the Lone Star State.
Beyond the films, the Round Top Film Festival will host a series of engaging panels and conversations, including discussions on the influence of fashion and film, the state of the industry, and the journeys of military veterans transitioning to creative careers in the film industry.
