Female Producers in Lagos Shine with Leading Vibe Initiative

Last month, a mini-documentary was released that follows three female music producers in Lagos, Nigeria as part of Tems' Leading Vibe Initiative. The program, launched in August 2025, aims to support, connect, and amplify the next generation of women in the music industry.

The documentary spotlights Saszy Afroshii, TinyBraz, and Gbots as they navigate the "chaotic" city of Lagos. Saszy, who has produced for artists like Fave and Tiwa Savage, emphasizes the importance of female empowerment in an industry dominated by men. TinyBraz, a singer-songwriter and producer, describes how the Leading Vibe Initiative helped her find her authentic artistic voice after feeling pressured to conform.

Meanwhile, Gbots, who has worked with Olamide and CKay, founded the female music community "We Are ProducHERS" to provide a safe space for women producers and artists. The documentary also features Tems, who is on the artist board of Native Instruments, the company supporting the Leading Vibe Initiative.

In a separate segment, acclaimed artist Usher reflects on how closely studying the "legends" of music helped shape his own successful career. He believes this deep dive into the work of musical icons was crucial in making him the star he is today.
