A teenager from Somerset, Erin Rose, has described her experience recording music in Los Angeles as "the experience of a lifetime." Her journey began when her mother posted a TikTok video of her singing while washing dishes. This seemingly ordinary moment unexpectedly garnered significant attention, leading to meetings with producers from Universal Music Group.
Initially too shy to perform publicly, Erin's mother posted the video in February 2022 to boost her daughter's confidence. The clip quickly gained over 57,000 views and attracted industry professionals. Approximately 18 months after the video's initial posting, the family received an invitation to Los Angeles.
In October 2024, Erin flew to LA and recorded her debut song, "Not Cute." A subsequent trip in October 2025 resulted in two more songs, including "Wildfire," released in January 2026. Despite her success, Erin, an A-level student, still intends to pursue a career in medicine, with her parents fully supporting either path.
