In the latest development, actor, writer, and comedian Brett Goldstein has secured a new comedy series on Prime Video. Titled "Escorted," the half-hour, single-camera romantic comedy has received an eight-episode straight-to-series order from the streaming platform.
Goldstein, known for his Emmy-winning role as Roy Kent on the hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, will star, write, and executive produce the new project. The series follows a divorced dad in Manhattan who accidentally becomes a male escort, exploring themes of second chances, the mayhem of co-parenting, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.
Goldstein will co-showrun the series alongside fellow Shrinking executive producer Brian Gallivan. The two will executive produce alongside Cooper Wehde, Josh Senior, and Molly Mandel. Warner Bros. Television is the lead studio, co-producing with Amazon MGM Studios.

This latest venture comes as Goldstein has been expanding his presence in the romantic comedy genre. He recently co-wrote and starred in the films "All Of You" and the upcoming "Office Romance." Earlier this year, he also released his first stand-up special, "Brett Goldstein: The Second Best Night of Your Life," on HBO Max.
