Summary

- The original AFC Richmond team will not return for the new season.
- Ted Lasso's son, Henry, will be played by a new child actor.

Apple TV's popular series Ted Lasso is slated for a fourth season, surprising fans after initial plans suggested the 2023 finale would conclude the show. Co-creator and star Jason Sudeikis revealed that the creative team decided to continue the series with a new focus.
The upcoming season will center on an all-female soccer team, a significant departure from the previous seasons' focus on AFC Richmond. This new direction meant that the actors portraying the AFC Richmond players would not be returning.
Sudeikis personally contacted the departing cast members to inform them of the decision, a process he described as "very difficult." He wished to avoid them hearing the news through the internet.
While the original team is out, lead actors such as Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, and Brett Goldstein are confirmed for season four. However, updates on supporting cast members remain uncertain.
In other changes, Phil Dunster, who played Jamie Tartt, will not be available due to scheduling conflicts. Additionally, Grant Feely has been cast as the new child actor to play Henry, Ted's son.
