According to data from Luminate, the album sold an impressive 2.7 million copies within 24 hours of its release on October 3, 2025. This surpasses Swift's previous personal best and trails only Adele's 2015 album "25" as the all-time record holder for the biggest album opening in the U.S. since Luminate began tracking sales in 1991.
The singer has also set a new record in the vinyl category, selling 1.2 million physical LPs since the album's release. This tops her own previous record of 859,000 vinyl albums sold in a single week for her 2024 album "The Tortured Poets Department." To further commemorate the album's launch, Swift has made available four limited edition CDs featuring acoustic and remixed versions of select songs from "The Life of a Showgirl."
