According to a recent report, Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, has made a remarkable recovery after undergoing quintuple bypass surgery last year. The 73-year-old underwent the procedure in June 2024, and four months later, Taylor says he is "doing so great."
"By his own according of it, he's actually at 150% now," Taylor shared on SiriusXM's The Morning Mashup. "He's actually got too much energy. He's doing amazing." The singer revealed that the "biggest part of the summer" for her family was caring for their patriarch and "getting him back to his old self."
Taylor expressed her gratitude for the "amazing medical care and help and doctors and nurses" who aided in her father's recovery. She emphasized how the experience "recontextualizes what matters" to her, reminding her of how fortunate she is that Scott "pulled through."

As Scott continues to regain his health, Taylor shared that he has been handing out new guitar picks to fans at her shows, a tradition he has maintained over the years. The singer hopes her father's story will encourage others to undergo preventative cardiac stress tests, as that is what ultimately led to the discovery of his five heart blockages.
