Taylor Swift Skips 2025 Grammys, Focuses on New Album Release
7 Oct
Summary
- Taylor Swift did not release any new music during the 2025 Grammy eligibility period
- Her new album "The Life of a Showgirl" and single "The Fate of Ophelia" were released after the cutoff
- Swift has been nominated for Grammys in all but 3 years since her debut

As the 2025 GMA Dove Awards approach, the list of performers and presenters has been announced, but one notable name is missing - Taylor Swift. The music superstar is not vying for any Grammy nominations this year, as she did not release an album, single, or video during the eligibility period of August 31, 2024 to August 30, 2025.
Swift's new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," and its lead single, "The Fate of Ophelia," were both released on October 3, more than a month after the cutoff for the 2026 Grammy Awards. This marks the first time since Swift's debut at age 17 that she has not been in the running for the prestigious music honors.
Despite the Grammys snub, Swift remains one of the most decorated artists in the awards' history. She has won 14 Grammys, including four for Album of the Year, a feat unmatched by any other artist. However, her debut album was not even nominated for Best Country Album back in 2008, though it was entered. Since then, every one of her regular studio albums has been nominated for a genre award or Album of the Year.
