Taylor Bloom is set to star in NBC's new drama pilot, "Protection." The project, picked up in January, will feature Bloom alongside Peter Krause and Hope Davis. The storyline revolves around a family of law enforcement agents.
Following the death of a U.S. Marshal, a straightforward case transforms into a dangerous conspiracy. The Thornhill family finds themselves targeted by an assassin. They must use their combined expertise to protect themselves and bring the killer to justice.
Bloom's character, Russ Thornhill, is a former Marine now working for the Department of Justice. He is described as an idealistic individual who trusts in people's inherent goodness. Bloom's recent work includes "The Vince Staples Show" and "American Horror Story."
The pilot is written and executive produced by Josh Safran, with Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector also serving as executive producers. Rebecca Thomas is directing and executive producing. Universal Television is producing the series.
