Quentin Tarantino has revived a lost scene from "Kill Bill," titled "The Lost Chapter: Yuki's Revenge," by utilizing the "Fortnite" game engine. This previously unfilmed sequence, which features Uma Thurman reprising her role as The Bride in a battle against Yuki, will premiere in "Fortnite" next month. Tarantino directed the motion-captured short, marking a unique collaboration that adds to the "Kill Bill" lore and is considered canon within his cinematic universe.
The "Yuki's Revenge" short is set after The Bride's fight with Gogo Yubari and depicts a confrontation with her twin sister, Yuki. The scene culminates in an elaborate car chase and shoot-em-up, with Yuki meeting a blue, pixelated end before respawning "Fortnite" style. Unlike previous animated sequences, this short features Thurman's live performance, rendered as an in-game cinematic.
"Fortnite" will premiere "Yuki's Revenge" on November 30th as part of its Hollywood-themed Chapter 7 season, replacing virtual concerts with a world premiere Tarantino film. Tarantino expressed his desire for this scene to be seen, highlighting that its original cut was due to the film's already extensive runtime. He also suggested future possibilities for "Fortnite" to help realize other spin-off ideas.
