- Michael Gracey to direct the live-action Tangled remake.
- Scarlett Johansson reportedly in talks for Mother Gothel role.

Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim have been cast as the lead roles in Disney's forthcoming live-action adaptation of its 2010 animated hit, Tangled. Croft, recognized for her role as Raven in HBO Max's "Titans," will embody Rapunzel, while Manheim, star of Disney Channel's "Zombies" franchise, will play Flynn Rider.
Esteemed director Michael Gracey, celebrated for helming "The Greatest Showman," is attached to direct this reimagining. Further casting news suggests Scarlett Johansson is in discussions to portray Mother Gothel, the antagonist originally voiced by Donna Murphy. This project follows Disney's recent success with live-action remakes like "Lilo & Stitch," which surpassed $1 billion at the global box office.
The original "Tangled" featured the voice talents of Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider. In November 2020, Moore and Levi reunited virtually to celebrate the animated film's 10th anniversary, reflecting on the immense joy and gratitude they felt for the project's enduring success and fan support.
