On October 27, 2025, renowned Tamil lyricist Snehan's father, Sivasangu Kodumburai, passed away at the age of 102. Snehan, who is also the State Youth Wing Secretary of the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party founded by actor Kamal Haasan, announced the news on Monday morning.
In his statement, Snehan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his father, who died at 4:30 am on October 27. The family will be holding the funeral on Tuesday, October 28, at 11 am in Pudukariyapatti, their native village located in the Thanjavur district.
Snehan's announcement was met with condolences from across the Tamil film industry and political circles. Kamal Haasan, the actor and political leader, also extended his heartfelt condolences to Snehan and his family, acknowledging Snehan's close relationship and his role in the MNM party.
