Tamil Comedy 'Dude' Breaks Box Office Records in India

On October 17, 2025, the Tamil romantic action comedy 'Dude' made a record-breaking debut at the Indian box office. The film, directed by Keerthiswaran, has surpassed Pradeep Ranganathan's previous hit 'Dragon' to mark the actor's highest opening of all time.

In the two days since its Diwali release, 'Dude' has continued its streak of success. According to reports, the film earned 10 crore* net on its second day, witnessing a slight jump compared to the 9.75 crores earned on the opening day. Tamil remains the dominant language, contributing to over 70% of the total earnings, with the remaining sum coming from the Telugu belt.

Earlier this year, Ranganathan had delivered the superhit 'Dragon', which minted 17.30 crores in its first two days of theatrical run. 'Dude' has now surpassed that mark by a respectable margin, indicating a promising future for the film. The ensemble cast of 'Dude' includes Ranganathan, Mamitha Baiju, R. Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma, and Neha Shetty.
