Abhinay's battle with liver disease had been made public in recent years, as he sought financial assistance to manage his ongoing treatment. In a video appeal that circulated widely, he had stated, "I do not know if I will be around for longer," and disclosed that doctors had given him only about a year and a half to live.
Abhinay began his career with a significant role in 'Thulluvadho Ilamai', alongside Dhanush, which marked the debut of both actors. Over the course of his career, he accumulated more than 15 credits across Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema, participating in films, advertisements, and voice dubbing work. His diverse contributions reflected his commitment to the industry until his health declined.
As his medical expenses mounted, Abhinay sought financial help from the film fraternity and the public. Comedian KPY Bala responded to his request and provided monetary support, while Dhanush, Abhinay's co-star from his debut film, also contributed Rs 5 lakh to assist with his treatment.
