The 29th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) has unveiled an impressive lineup of 18 works in progress that will be in the spotlight this year. The festival's Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event portion is presenting these films currently in production or post-production, seeking sales agents or festival premieres.
The selected projects span three categories: Baltic Event Works in Progress, International Works in Progress, and Just Film Works in Progress. The diverse lineup features debut filmmakers as well as acclaimed directors presenting their latest works. Triin Tramberg, the project manager of International Works in Progress, expressed excitement about the inclusion of films from Ukraine, highlighting the incredible resilience of their filmmakers and the festival's support for those creating under extremely challenging circumstances.
The International Works in Progress section includes titles such as the French-Spanish psychological drama "The Convulsions," the Ukrainian musical film "Kira's Dream," and the Uruguayan-Argentinian dramedy "Prince." The Baltic Event Works in Progress showcases projects from the Baltic region, including the Lithuanian-Estonian-Latvian fantasy drama "Dice-Ching-O-Mat" and the Estonian thriller "Mo Hunt." The Just Film Works in Progress category features the Estonian-Lithuanian youth film "Morten" and the Ukrainian family adventure "Office of Magical Forces."
