11 Aug
Summary
- New album inspired by Swedish folk music heritage.
- Matsson embraces cultural roots after initial aversion.
- Album release preceded by tour and new single.
Kristian Matsson, known as The Tallest Man on Earth, is releasing his new album, 'Just Beyond Endless Mountain,' on October 9. The album draws significant inspiration from the traditional folk music of Sweden's Dalarna region, Matsson's childhood home.
Matsson shared that he previously had an aversion to his cultural inheritance but now, living in Sweden again, has reconnected with it. He has extensively researched the music and the way of life of past generations, feeling this record is his most authentic work yet.
This upcoming album is the follow-up to his 2023 release, 'Henry St.' To support 'Just Beyond Endless Mountain,' Matsson will embark on a cross-country tour of North America this fall. The single 'Deliver Me from Trying' has been released with a video filmed in the Swedish countryside.
