Talking Heads members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Jerry Harrison, and Chris Frantz are releasing a new book titled "Talking Heads: New Feeling" on May 18. This date marks the 50th anniversary of their debut album, "Talking Heads: 77." The book promises a deep dive into the band's history, featuring handwritten lyrics, original album sketches, and private photos that have been stored for over 40 years.
Original essays from all four band members are included, along with contributions from artists such as Lorde, Debbie Harry, Karl Ove Knausgaard, and Jeff Bridges. The book also gathers behind-the-scenes photographs from the iconic 1984 concert film "Stop Making Sense." This retrospective follows a limited re-release of the film in 2023.
This publication arrives alongside other recent Talking Heads events. In November 2026, a super-deluxe edition of their third album, "Fear of Music," was detailed for release. This expanded edition includes alternate versions, studio outtakes, and unreleased concert recordings. A new SiriusXM station dedicated to the band will also launch concurrently.
