Taiwanese Wedding Descends into Chaos as Parents Clash Over Reception

Last month, the Taiwanese comedy-drama "Double Happiness" made its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival. The film, directed by Joseph Chen-Chieh Hsu, who previously helmed the acclaimed "Little Big Women," centers on a wedding that descends into chaos when a soon-to-be-married man discovers that both of his long-separated parents have independently organized his wedding reception for the same day at the same venue, without either knowing about the other's plans.

The film's cast features Kuan-Ting Liu, known for his work in "A Sun" and "Old Fox," alongside Jennifer Yu ("In Broad Daylight," "Sisterhood") and veteran actress Kuei-mei Yang, whose credits include "Vive L'Amour" and "Eat Drink Man Woman." Clifford Miu produces the project.

Following the film's successful debut in Tokyo, Hong Kong-based sales company Moebius Entertainment has boarded "Double Happiness" for international distribution across the Asia-Pacific region. Moebius CEO Fred Tsui expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Miu, stating that the film "captures the chaos and warmth of modern Asian family life in a way that feels both universal and deeply personal." Moebius is also currently handling worldwide sales for the Chinese title "Wild Nights, Tamed Beasts," which has received critical acclaim at various film festivals.
