Sydney Sweeney: Nudity Double Standard In Hollywood

Sydney Sweeney has candidly discussed the prevalent double standard in Hollywood regarding onscreen nudity. She noted that while male actors are frequently lauded with awards for similar performances, women doing nude scenes are often met with criticism and a questioning of their professional integrity.

Sweeney's experiences include filming for Euphoria and The Voyeurs, where she often felt the need to research other celebrities who had performed nude scenes. She found that directors like Sam Levinson were supportive, allowing her to opt out of scenes she felt were unnecessary.

The actress also shared her family's reactions, particularly her father and grandfather, who reportedly turned off her scenes and left the room. Sweeney, however, expressed a sense of detachment from her own nude performances, viewing them as integral to portraying her characters like Cassie.

Despite the challenges, Sweeney stated that filming these scenes is technical and far from romantic. She also reflected on gaining confidence and self-awareness from her roles, believing the female body to be a powerful entity that she owes it to her characters to represent authentically.
