4 Dec
Summary
- Nine tonnes of fireworks will explode from Sydney CBD locations.
- Drones will launch pyrotechnics, but a drone show is not planned.
- AI-designed plant sculptures will project onto Harbour Bridge pylons.

Sydney is set to host a massive New Year's Eve celebration, with an impressive nine tonnes of fireworks prepared for launch across several iconic CBD locations. These include the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and The Four Seasons hotel, promising a dazzling spectacle for all.
This year's display will utilize drones for launching the pyrotechnics, though a full drone show is not on the agenda. Fortunato Foti, creative director of Foti Fireworks, noted that drones cannot fully replicate the impact of traditional fireworks.
The event will showcase tens of thousands of pyrotechnic effects, notably featuring two dramatic waterfalls cascading from the Harbour Bridge. Further enhancing the visual experience, the bridge's pylons will be transformed into vibrant, dynamic plant sculptures through AI-driven projections.
