In a recent development, Swiss actor Daniel Bernhardt has joined the cast of the new action film 'Painter' from 20th Century Studios. The film, which marks the feature directorial debut of veteran stunt coordinator and second unit director Garrett Warren, also stars Walton Goggins and Amber Midthunder.
Bernhardt, known for his work in the 'Matchbox' franchise, has inked a deal to take on an undisclosed role in the project. The film, which is currently shooting in Serbia, is being produced by Derek Kolstad, the writer behind the 'John Wick' series, alongside Drew Simon and Sam Speiser of FilmNation's Infrared Pictures, and Josh Adler of Circle M + P. James Cameron, the mastermind behind the 'Avatar' franchise, is serving as an executive producer on the film through his Lightstorm Entertainment banner.
The plot of 'Painter' follows a young woman, played by Midthunder, who has been trained in combat from childhood. She uses her skills to rescue her kidnapped father, portrayed by Goggins, embarking on a perilous mission that tests her abilities to the limit. The film was originally set to star Alan Ritchson, but he had to exit the project due to scheduling conflicts.
