Los Angeles distributor Indie Rights has acquired all global rights outside of the U.K. and Ireland for Maurice O'Carroll's Irish crime thriller, "Swing Bout." This deal, encompassing various digital and home entertainment formats, covers a film centered on women's boxing. "Swing Bout" premiered at the Dublin Film Festival in 2024 before its international debut at Germany's Oldenburg Film Festival.
The narrative stars Ciara Berkeley as Tony, an up-and-coming boxer. The film unfolds in real-time, from the dressing room to the ring walk, depicting Tony's fight through a night of betrayal and consequential choices. Director Maurice O'Carroll expressed his delight in partnering with Indie Rights for the film's worldwide launch.
Indie Rights plans a strategic digital release for "Swing Bout" in early 2026. The film was notably shot at Cork's Páirc Uí Chaoimh stadium. Orion Productions, the film's producer, retains digital rights for the U.K. and Ireland territories.
