Swedish House Mafia has unveiled a new music video for their recent single, "Happiness Is So Sad," featuring Lykke Li. Directed by Theo Lindquist and Jorge G. Camarena, the video was uniquely filmed using around 25 phone cameras during a house party in Guadalajara, Mexico. This multi-perspective approach was chosen to convey the fragmented and intimate narrative of the event.
Lindquist noted that phones have established a new visual language that hadn't been fully explored in storytelling. The video's concept was inspired by Lykke Li's lyrics and the song's title, prompting reflections on nostalgia and the transient nature of happiness. The single, released in late July, was a prominent track throughout the summer at Swedish House Mafia's Ushuaïa Ibiza residency.
