Survivor's Wildest Tradition: Sia's Prize Returns!
20 May
Summary
- Sia's prize returns for Survivor's 50th season finale.
- Fans will vote for the $100,000 Sia Prize winner.
- Musicians like Sia, Eilish, and Brown are involved this season.
The "Sia Prize," a fan-favorite tradition where singer Sia awarded contestants her own money, is returning for Survivor's 50th season finale on Wednesday, May 20. Sia initially awarded over $1 million across eight seasons before host Jeff Probst intervened.
For this "In the Hands of the Fans" themed season, Sia proposed a twist: viewers will now vote to select the winner of a $100,000 prize. This marks a significant shift from her previous personal selections.
Survivor 50 has integrated numerous musical artists as superfans, including Billie Joe Armstrong and Zac Brown. The season also introduced the "Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol," a concept originating from the artist herself.
Host Jeff Probst discussed his own contribution, "Survivor 50 Come and Get It," recorded with his former bass player, channeling David Lee Roth. He also reflected on his early career interviewing musicians and learning to embrace chaos.
Probst highlighted how the show's essence—vulnerability and authentic storytelling—resonates with musicians, comparing it to sharing one's art. He emphasized that famous fans, like Zac Brown, are welcomed as genuine enthusiasts.
