Suriya's 'Karuppu' Roars to Theaters May 14!

The highly anticipated action thriller 'Karuppu,' directed by R J Balaji and starring Suriya, is scheduled to premiere on May 14, 2026. This release date was officially announced by director R J Balaji via his social media channels, confirming the 'blockbuster summer' begins with this film. Initial rumors about an April 10 release were previously debunked.

The film's excitement escalated after a teaser dropped on Suriya's birthday last year. The teaser portrays a fierce deity, Karuppu, emphasizing instant justice, and introduces Suriya as a lawyer named Saravanan, who also goes by the name Karuppu. The visuals promise a commercial entertainer packed with action and memorable punch lines from Suriya.

'Karuppu' features a notable ensemble cast including Trisha as the female lead, alongside Malayalam actors Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, and Tamil actors Yogi Babu and Natty. The film's technical crew includes music by Sai Abhyankkar and cinematography by GK Vishnu, known for his work on films like 'Bigil' and 'Jawan'.
