The fantasy action entertainer 'Karuppu,' directed by RJ Balaji, continues to dominate the box office weeks after its premiere, amassing over 300 crores worldwide and marking a significant success for Tamil cinema this year. The film's blend of action, emotion, and mythological elements has resonated strongly with audiences.
A special behind-the-scenes video recently released by the makers delves into the intricate process of creating Suriya's Kavakara Karuppu avatar. The footage highlights the painstaking makeup, including holy ash and traditional adornments, required to bring the intimidating god to life, crediting artists Minnal Moorthy, Selvam, and Muruganantham for their pivotal contributions.
This visual evidence has effectively addressed circulating rumors that a body double might have been used for the climactic sequences. The behind-the-scenes content strongly suggests Suriya himself underwent the extensive preparation and performance, reinforcing his commitment to the character.
Starring Suriya alongside Trisha, RJ Balaji, Indrans, and Swasika, 'Karuppu' has become Suriya's highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu, earning over Rs 150 crore in the state alone.
