Suriya's Karuppu Nears ₹150 Crore in Stellar Box Office Run

Suriya's 'Karuppu' is dominating the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026 and is on the cusp of crossing ₹150 crore domestically. The film's momentum remained strong through its second weekend, with an estimated ₹14.5-15 crore collected on the second Sunday alone.

As of May 25, 2026, 'Karuppu's total domestic net collection is estimated to be between ₹148-148.5 crore. This performance has already seen it surpass the lifetime collections of most Tamil films from the previous year. It also shattered the domestic net collection of Vettaiyan, which stands at ₹148.32 crore.

Globally, 'Karuppu' has achieved a remarkable feat, crossing ₹220 crore, including ₹64-65 crore in overseas gross collection. The film is now set to challenge higher box office benchmarks and potentially become Suriya's first film to gross ₹300 crore worldwide.
