Art Meets Tech: Surat's 'Future is Now' Fest

The 11th edition of the Dumas Art Project, themed 'The Future is Now,' commenced on Sunday at VR Surat. This 20-day festival is set to display 160 diverse art pieces, including installations, sculptures, paintings, and photographs. Student artists from four esteemed institutions—JJ School of Art, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, and Anant National University—are participating. The project serves as a unique, non-profit platform in Surat dedicated to art accessibility and student exposure. This year's festival includes 'Kala Car,' a collaboration with an international automotive company, merging technology and art. Additionally, a photography exhibition titled 'Pockets of Hope,' in partnership with Unesco, will be featured. The event runs until February 28 and will also host an Art Bazaar, Young Artists Programme, theatre performances, and various art workshops.
