According to the latest box office reports, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, the new film directed by Shashank Khaitan and starring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, has seen a significant decline in its collections on the second day of its release.
The film, which had a decent opening on the first day, earned only ₹5.25 crore on Friday, taking its two-day total to ₹14.5 crore. This is a concerning drop compared to the film's performance on the opening day.
The occupancy rate for the film also saw a sharp decline, starting at 9.06% in the morning shows and gradually improving to 17.44% in the afternoon and 18.33% in the evening slots. However, the night shows managed to reach a modest 27.20% occupancy.
Regionally, the film performed better in Delhi, which had the highest number of shows (744), but the occupancy rate was still low at 16.75%. Mumbai, with 547 shows, fared slightly better at 21.5% occupancy.
Compared to the previous films of its lead actors, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is performing moderately. Varun Dhawan's last release, Baby John, had a steeper drop on the second day, while Janhvi Kapoor's previous film, Param Sundari, saw growth on its second day.
The film has been overshadowed by the success of Kantara Chapter 1, which grossed an impressive ₹100 crore in just two days, including a staggering ₹45 crore on the second day alone.
