In the ongoing dispute within the Kapur family following the death of Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband and industrialist Sunjay Kapur, his sister Mandhira Kapur has spoken publicly, placing blame on Sunjay's third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, for the breakdown of his marriage with Karisma.
Mandhira recalled how tensions in her brother's marriage with Karisma began to surface, saying she was aware of Sunjay's growing bond with Priya and disapproved of it. She stated that Sunjay and Karisma were in a good place, with their son Kiaan just born, but Priya's arrival disrupted the family. Mandhira expressed her belief that Priya should have stepped aside instead of "destroying a marriage" that was trying to work.
Furthermore, Mandhira revealed that their late father had strongly objected to Sunjay's relationship with Priya, saying he could never marry her and did not want to see her face. Neither Mandhira nor her sister attended Sunjay and Priya's wedding in 2017, as they could not support it due to their father's wishes.
Mandhira also expressed regret for not standing by Karisma during that period, saying they were not talking, and she feels bad because Karisma was her best friend.
