Faithfull's Life Unveiled: Wainwright & Jones Honor Icon

Two acclaimed musicians, Rufus Wainwright and Norah Jones, are scheduled to perform at the Sundance Film Festival. Their performance will take place on Sunday evening at Park City's Eccles Theatre. This special event honors the legacy of the iconic singer, songwriter, and artist Marianne Faithfull. The performance is timed following the festival premiere of the film 'Broken English.' The film, directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, offers a unique and playful exploration of Faithfull's life and career. It had its initial debut at the Venice Film Festival last fall. 'Broken English' features Tilda Swinton and George MacKay in a fictitious research facility, delving into Faithfull's journey. The documentary utilizes archival and performance footage to showcase the artist, who passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 78. The film is described as an original portrait of a musician who defied conformity.
