Summer Camp Romance Filmed, Sales Launch at MIPCOM

Canadian production companies Precious Metal Productions and Good Soldier Films have wrapped production on their latest TV movie, "Summer's Camp Romance." The film is set to premiere and commence sales at the MIPCOM event.

"Summer's Camp Romance" stars Ann Pirvu and Stephen Huszar. The cast also includes special appearances from Kat Barrell, Kristin Booth, Stefan Brogren, and Andrew Phung, alongside supporting actors Romaine Waite, Rob Stewart, Mikayla SwamiNathan, Brigitte Kingsley, and newcomer Vera Deodato.

The movie centers on an ambitious advertising executive, portrayed by Pirvu, who strives to secure a coveted spot at Camp Falcon Ridge for her daughter. She reluctantly partners with a former star athlete, Huszar, who is also aiding his niece's camp aspirations. Together, they compete in challenges for a place at the camp.

Co-written by Pirvu and director Christopher Giroux, the film explores themes of romance, family, and the magic of camp nostalgia. Pirvu described the sign-up process as akin to "The Hunger Games," aiming to capture relatable experiences with a blend of romance and family fun.

Brigitte Kingsley and Andrew Cymek produced the film under their Good Soldiers Films banner, with Pirvu, Giroux, and Huszar also serving as producers. Kingsley, through her distribution company Defiant Empire Distribution, is handling international sales at MIPCOM.

This production continues the creative partnership between Precious Metal Productions and Good Soldier Films, following their prior collaboration on "Bee My Love." Giroux also directed "Snowbound for the Holidays" and aims to bring "Avengers"-level energy to the TV movie genre with "Summer's Camp Romance."
