Suhail Nayyar: From 'Udta Punjab' to Lord Hanuman's Realm

Suhail Nayyar will portray Vanar Raj Sugriva in Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious 'Ramayana' film adaptation. The actor, previously known for his role in 'Udta Punjab,' secured this significant part thanks to a performance in 'Saare Jahan Se Achha.' Director Nitesh Tiwari cited this earlier work as a primary reason for casting Nayyar as Sugriva in 'Ramayana: Part Two.'

Nayyar acknowledged the profound responsibility of embodying a character with deep historical and cultural resonance. He stated his commitment to doing justice to the role, emphasizing that some parts feel destined. The epic 'Ramayana' is planned as a two-part cinematic event.

The first installment is scheduled for a worldwide release in October 2026, preceding Diwali. The second part is expected to follow during the Diwali season in 2027. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
