At the confluence of Nizamuddin Dargah and Gurudwara Damdama Sahib, Sunder Nursery recently hosted a captivating two-day Sufi Heritage Festival. Organized by Culture Plus founders Yasmin Kidwai and Himanshu Anand, the event celebrated the city's spirit through music, dance, and poetry.
The festival embraced timeless Sufi ideals, offering a space for reflection and connection. It presented diverse interpretations of Sufi thought, featuring soul-stirring compositions by Sona Mohapatra and Daler Mehndi. Experimental soundscapes from The Aavahan Project and Maati Bani also captivated the audience.
Festival co-founder Yasmin Kidwai described Sufism as a belief system that fosters expansion and evolution, stating the event was their interpretation of this profound concept. Himanshu Anand highlighted the convergence of Sufi and bhakti traditions in the city, noting their shared core teachings of love and oneness.
