Sai Baba Actor Sudhir Dalvi Recovers After Health Scare

Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, cherished for his portrayal of Sai Baba in the 1977 film "Shirdi Ke Sai Baba," is now recovering at home after a significant health crisis. The 86-year-old actor was hospitalized for nearly a month starting October 7, 2025, battling sepsis that severely affected his limbs and necessitated intensive care.

Dalvi's family encountered considerable financial challenges due to mounting medical costs, which reportedly exceeded Rs 19 lakh and were projected to rise further. The Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust provided crucial support, contributing Rs 11 lakh in December 2025, as permitted by the Bombay High Court. Several prominent figures in the film industry, including Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar, also extended financial assistance.

His wife, Suhas Dalvi, shared that while he is home and able to walk with a walker, he remains disoriented but happy to be back. She expressed deep gratitude towards the film fraternity and fans, particularly Sai devotees, for their generosity during the challenging period. She has appealed for prayers rather than further monetary aid, stating that assistance is no longer needed and should be directed to others in greater need.

Sudhir Dalvi's recovery continues slowly at home, supported by his family. His health battle has underscored the profound affection and goodwill he commands from fans and colleagues alike, highlighted by the outpouring of support during his critical illness.
