Suchitra Krishnamoorthi: 'Poster Girl of Divorce' Speaks Out

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, known for her 1994 film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, has opened up about her past media perception. In interviews from the 1990s, she was frequently labeled the "poster girl of divorce." Krishnamoorthi reflected on this, noting a shift in public discourse, stating that while she was told to be quiet, contemporary figures are now more openly expressive.

Krishnamoorthi also shared her perspectives on co-parenting. She highlighted that while mothers often bear the brunt of co-parenting responsibilities, the presence and input of both parents are crucial for a child's development. She advised against allowing personal bitterness to negatively impact a child, emphasizing that children should not be deprived of parental support unless it is harmful.

Her career began in the 1980s, with her breakthrough in film alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Beyond acting, Krishnamoorthi has released pop albums, authored a book, and is a trained classical singer with interests in painting and theatre.
