Strictly Star: "I Very Nearly Died"

Peep Show actor Robert Webb has shared the profound impact of his near-fatal heart surgery, admitting he "very nearly died." The operation, performed to address a congenital heart defect, took place a year prior to his 2021 participation in Strictly Come Dancing. Webb and his professional partner, Dianne Buswell, withdrew from the competition just days before the fourth live show due to his health.

Reflecting on his survival, Webb expressed immense gratitude, stating, "It is a beautiful miracle to be alive." He now views his recovery and continued normal life expectancy as an "amazing gift." Looking back, Webb believes he took on the demanding Strictly challenge too soon after his surgery, describing his body as "not ready at all" for the rigorous schedule.

Despite the positive experience, Webb has no intention of returning to Strictly, feeling he drew a line under that chapter. He previously discussed his struggles with alcohol and how the life-altering surgery significantly improved his outlook and marriage, even after previous couples therapy sessions for his drinking habits.
