Strictly's New Era: Willis, Widdicombe & Radebe Take the Helm

The iconic BBC One dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing, is entering a new era with a fresh presenting lineup. Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe have been announced as the successors to long-standing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Daly, who fronted the show since its 2004 inception, and Winkleman, who joined in 2014, are stepping down. Comedian Chris McCausland, the first blind contestant and 2024 winner, shared his positive views on the new team. He specifically highlighted Widdicombe's quick wit and warmth, believing he will be a brilliant addition and avoid direct comparisons to Winkleman. Widdicombe himself expressed excitement, recalling his memorable penguin costume appearance from the 2024 Christmas Special and eagerness to work with Willis and Radebe. The upcoming 2026 series has also begun unveiling its celebrity cast. Confirmed participants so far include Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton, and Dame Sarah Storey. Further announcements are expected throughout the summer before the new season commences in September on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
