The 'Stree' franchise is set to expand with 'Stree 3', confirmed for release in 2028. Star Rajkummar Rao made the announcement, with producer Dinesh Vijan sharing details about the highly anticipated sequel. Vijan revealed that director Amar Kaushik has completed the script, assuring fans that the film will retain the elements they love while introducing surprising narrative directions.
"Everything that you have loved about it, you'll get it, but where it starts and where it ends will be a complete revelation," Vijan stated, hinting at a potential holiday release in 2028. Rao reminisced about the franchise's inception, recalling how the team's strong faith in the story and Kaushik's vision drove the creation of the first film, a small-budget independent project that resonated widely.
The horror-comedy universe began with the successful 'Stree' in 2018, followed by 'Stree 2' in 2024, which also garnered significant box office success and positive viewer responses. Both installments featured the original cast, including Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee.
