Streaming Shake-up: Holland Out, Bloys Set to Lead
30 Sep
Summary
- Cindy Holland departs Paramount's streaming division.
- Casey Bloys of HBO will lead combined streaming services.
- The merger is expected to finalize next week.

Cindy Holland, the streaming chief for Paramount, will depart the company immediately before its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. This decision paves the way for Casey Bloys, currently the HBO chairman, to assume leadership of the combined entity's streaming services. The acquisition, which includes HBO, is expected to be finalized as early as next week.
Holland, who joined Skydance last year, has been instrumental in securing new projects for Paramount+, such as a legal thriller with Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, and a series starring Jeremy Strong. Meanwhile, Bloys, a 22-year veteran of HBO, is renowned for programming successful shows like 'Succession' and 'The White Lotus,' alongside more populist fare.
Executives had speculated for months about who would lead the streaming division post-merger. Holland expressed her full support for David Ellison's decision, stating he is optimizing for HBO stability. Bloys currently oversees a larger streaming service with over 140 million subscribers, significantly more than Paramount+'s subscriber base of just over 80 million.
