9 Nov
Summary
- Stranger Things to end with Season 5 in 2025
- Duffer Brothers leaving Netflix for Paramount deal
- Spinoff series and animated Tales from '85 in the works

As of November 2025, the hit Netflix series Stranger Things is set to conclude its run with the fifth and final season. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer, known as the Duffer Brothers, have confirmed that the upcoming season will mark the end of the story for the Hawkins, Indiana characters.
The Duffer Brothers recently spoke about their decision to wrap up Stranger Things, stating that they have told the tale they wanted to tell and are ready to bring the series to a definitive conclusion. While the brothers joked about potentially doing more with the core cast, they are not seriously considering a direct sequel series.
Fans will still get to revisit the Stranger Things universe, however, as an animated spinoff titled Tales from '85 is in the works, set between the events of Seasons 2 and 3. Additionally, a live-action spinoff series is reportedly in development, though it will focus on new characters rather than the main cast.
The end of Stranger Things also coincides with the Duffer Brothers' departure from Netflix, as they have signed a new deal with Paramount to develop both TV shows and theatrical films. While the brothers will serve as executive producers on any future Stranger Things offshoots, their direct involvement in the franchise is expected to diminish.
